My Life As An Interactive NPC and other such tomfoolery...

Hey there, Gamelings!
It's been a long time... I know. 

I am doing a complete restructuring and re-branding of the blog (including all of our cool new accounts for you to binge-view)!

Unfortunately, however, this isn't a sing-along blog
or maybe it is...
I don't know your life.

To be completely honest with you all, I have been writing, deleting, and rewriting this entry for the longest time. There has been a serious overhaul here at The Pinup Gamer. The most noticeable (on my end) is that I am now the only contributor to this conglomeration of a blog, website, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Instagram.
I won't get too weepy about it but, having lost my contributors and friends, I thought, "Hey.... can I really do this? It's a lot to take on..."
And it is.
That is just how things are, now.
HOWEVER!!!!


I am back and I am ready to commit myself to this.
I got inspiration from someone a while ago...
it was actually when I was part of a panel at the convention I had previously written about. She was next to me on the panel and as we were introducing ourselves, I mentioned that I am the creator of, and main (now only) contributor to, The Pinup Gamer.
She turned to me with wide eyes and said, "OMG! I've read your blog! It's awesome!"




I had never met this woman before in my life.
That, mind you, was ages ago... but that is something that is still a source of motivation for me. Whether you comment, like, share, or do none of those things...
You are out there.
You are reading this.
You exist and you are taking the time out to read what I think about nerdy things.
You might care... you might not.
That doesn't matter to me.
What matters is that you are here in this wonderful, vast, sandbox of a reality and you are all players in this game!
I will be your favourite interactive NPC.
I will be here to provide you with information and such.
Let me help you along your extraordinary quest line and perhaps you will share with me your coin eventually.

So I'm back.
I made it through.

Trainers Rejoice In Trading

Let the Pokemon Trading Commence!

According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, players will soon be able to trade their Pokemon to other trainers in a future update to the wildly popular mobile game Pokemon GO.

We do not have even a guess-timation on the release date, time or even millennium that the patch will be released, but we have been assure that it WILL in fact happen. All we can hope for is that it will be sooner than later.

Now, if we could just get some server stability that would be nice too!

SmartBoy Is Smart!

For those of us that use emulators on our phones we have all run into the irritation of the buttons sometimes not responding to touch, or the buttons getting in the way of the screen and interfering with the actual gameplay.

(Yes, DS emulator, this is why I don't like you.)

Enter developer, Hyperkin!  They have created an attachment for your phone called the Smart Boy. It is currently only compatible with iPhone 6 Plus, but that will soon change.  What the devise does is attaches to your phone and turns it into a Gameboy Handheld System, complete with a game cartridge slot!

All I can say as a fan of hand held gaming and gaming on the go, this is AMAZING. My only concern is how quickly will this devise drain our phone’s battery? I’m sure that is something that has been addressed by the designers, and I for one am very excited about this attachment!

Mario 2.0?

Nintendo is on fire this year at E3!

First, we get news about the new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Now, Shigeru Miyamoto (the creator to the Legend of Zelda games and Super Mario games) has announced that, much like the Legend of Zelda, Mario will be getting an upgrade!

He hinted in an interview that we will be hearing about a "new kind of Mario" in a year or two!

Who-whaaaaat?!

So there's a possibility that we may hear news as soon as next year's E3!

More than likely it will be available on all of the latest consoles including the NX console which is said to be released globally March 2017!!!

Look at that bad boy!!!

A HUGE Thank you goes out to "The Grand Geezer of Gaming" for purchasing this domain name for us! It's good for 5 years so lets get this blog to superstar status by then, okay?

We will keep the .tk up for a while to wrangle in the business connections we are setting up with it, but we have an official paid domain name!

Dear Bethesda: A Love Letter and A Request

My dearest Bethesda,

You have given me hours of entertainment playing your games. We've shared laughs and tears. I've rage quit a few times but you have always been there for me when I was ready to stop being a butt.
Now I hear that one of my favorite mobile games is expanding and I just can't control my emotions.

Not only that, but you have just teased us with the release of a few new games and the super upgrade of many others!
The 90's game "Quake" is getting your delicate touch in "Quake Champions". Lending to it, not only your amazing graphics capabilities, but e-sport level multi-player gameplay and unlocked framerates.



Next we have Skyrim. Ah, the beautiful, wondrous world of Skyrim.
What's that?
It's more beautiful now?
How is that even possible?





oh...
That's how...
In the Skyrim Special Edition upgrade the graphics quality increases immensely AND gamers are 100% allowed to use fan-made mods...
You've even built that into the game options.
Wow.



Not only did you just announce those things, but you also announced the final 3 DLCs for Fallout 4 (Including the ability to build your own vault,  some super sweet rube goldberg machines, and the ability to experiment on Dwellers)!


Not to mention tons of news for Fallout Shelter which now has 50 million players! WOW!




The updates to this wonderful game include:
send dwellers on quests
explore new locations
battle new enemies
all-new combat system
meet new characters
play on PC


WHAT?!?! I can play this on my PC soon?!? ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!
