Accio Go!

With the enormous success of Pokemon Go the nerd community cries out:

"LET US HAVE HARRY POTTER GO!"



Fans of the Harry Potter book series and movies are screaming out for an augmented reality game similar to Pokemon Go.
What better marketing for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?

It is a film, based in the wizarding world, about a man who is literally roaming about looking for all of the wayward "fantastic beasts".

While I am sure that, if this gets off the ground and Niantic teams up with good ol' J.K., they will give us a better name than "Harry Potter Go" I cannot wait to play it! The fans have set up a Care2 petition that is called "Accio Harry Potter Go: We Want a Harry Potter Version of Pokemon Go!"

This petition asks for features such as:
Finding and destroying horcruxes (with swords and basilisk fangs!!)

Casting spells

Finding and capturing magical creatures

Wizard duels with your friends

Temporarily disabling other people's apps with "Expelliarmus" in duels

Maybe it would even be cool to have a Quidditch mini-game!

As I write this, they have a 9,000 signature goal and are already at 8,772!!

Fans of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series will already be aware of Pottermore.com.

Pottermore is a look inside the world of Harry Potter and more!

There you can find writing about the Potter universe that is seen nowhere else!

You can be sorted into your house!

That's right, I'm a Ravenclaw!

You get your wand!

Look! It's my baby-wand! <3 

Unfortunately that is about as far as the interactivity goes now.
Sure you can read articles and new secret writing from J.K., herself.
But you used to be able to brew potions, fight in a wizard's duel, play games, go through the story and collect items...
You even gained house points for your house!

J.K. has said that there will be more interactive content in the future so I guess we will just have to sit here and wait patiently. 

Pottermore made headlines lately as a few members of the cast of the Harry Potter films took the sorting hat quiz and got sorted into their respective houses!
