Scream, Shout, and cut that crap out!

Video game voice actors have voted 96.5% in favor of going on strike!

new girl frustrated schmidt oh no no

You see, it turns out that all of that screaming and fake dying is bad on the vocal chords.
So our favorite voices are demanding that the producers either pay up, improve the working conditions, or BOTH!

both why not both girl taco why dont we have both

Had we known that our fake murder and mutilation was coming at such a high price for these wonderful people we probably wouldn't be so keen to throw money at the big-name game companies!

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) are petitioning the Health and Safety officials in California for an investigation into the video game industry under charges of breaching vocal safety standards.

The Guild's demands are:
Stunt pay for vocally strenuous sessions
Stunt coordinators for performance capture sessions
Sessions that are strenuous on the vocal chords be limited length
Bonus royalty payments (after game has sold over 2 million copies)

The guild has asked video game voice actors to come forward with their tales of woe and hardship.
So far they have collected stories about:
people losing their voice for around 6 months
people tasting blood during their session
people fainting (or nearly fainting)
and damage to their vocal chords that causes permanent damage to their voice

We here at The Pinup Gamer stand beside our friends in the voice acting community!

So, next time you kill someone (or someone kills you) in your favorite game, just remember that someone had to scream for hours to make that death believable.
